Meet Immy

I joined the water babies family as a parent when my eldest daughter was a few months old in 2018.

We loved our lessons so much and learned so many valuable skills. when our son was born in 2021 we couldn’t wait to get him into lessons too.

I’m so happy I get to help more people to safely learn to swim

I trained to be a teacher in 2023, I now love being able to support carers and their children in the water and watch their confidence grow together.

My favourite part of being a teacher is seeing the little wins between carers and their little ones. Blowing bubbles for the first time or floating independently in the water are just a few of the magic bits I get to experience.

I have been lucky enough to grow up and work near the sea for most of my life. For the small part of my life when I lived in London I was always surprised to meet non swimmers, I now know this is normal but I’m so happy I get to help more people to safely learn to swim and I love it when a carer says they have bought their little one to swim early as they can’t and want to encourage it early, I think that’s so brave.

I now spend a lot of time walking on the beach with my two dogs and kids, and we all love the beach days.
