Meet Kat

I started my Water Babies journey with my Daughter in 2018 as I have a love for the water and being in the sea.

Living near a river and canal I wanted her to have the understanding and skills to be able to save herself, if the unthinkable were to occur.

Soon after I became a poolside assistant and fell in love with the customers, and after some gentle badgering, I attended the teacher training at the start of 2020 just before the world shut down.

Known for my ever-changing hair colour and my constant outbursts of song, I bring energy and passion to each of my classes.

Some of my favourite moments of being a Water Babies teacher is seeing swimmers hit their personal achievements whether it’s accomplishing their front crawl or relaxing in their float position. It fills me with such warmth and pride knowing I have played a small part in their swimming journey and water safety.

How our lessons work

Learn essential water safety, core aquatic skills, and swimming strokes from the first lesson.

Supportive lessons

With a maximum of 10 little ones, a carer per child and one of our teachers in the pool in each lesson.

30 minutes long

Lessons take place each week, so it’s a wonderful way to bond with your baby away from the craziness of life.

Have fun!

Skills are taught through song, play and repetition, so there’s never a dull moment when you’re in the pool. 

Tailored progress

Our teachers will tailor each lesson to your little one’s ability, so it’s only when they’re ready, we’re ready.

What we’ll teach you

Our program helps your little one develop essential swimming skills, confidence, and water safety from day one. We’ll teach you to teach your baby to swim.

Water Familiarity – Helping your baby feel comfortable in the water.
Natural Reflexes – Developing instincts into core aquatic skills.
Independent Swimming – Learning different strokes and swimming freely.
Water Safety – Essential skills to stay safe in and around water.
Confidence Building – Encouraging self-assurance in and out of the pool.

We follow Swim England’s framework, ensuring structured, expert-led progress. You’ll be amazed at what your little one can achieve!
